What’s the point of customers having an account before checkout?

    This is a great way to gather emails from your customers. “Why would I need to do that?” you ask?

    Emails lists are essential when running a business, it is a way to contact clients directly, and build long term relationships. 

    Email has a large reach when it comes to targeting clients. Email is also very personal, not everyone gives out their email, so if a customer gives you their email, they’re giving you permission to contact them, use this opportunity to target them with what you have to offer in the future.

How to gather customers’ emails?

In Checkout settings, you can choose if you want your customers to have an account to be able to checkout, you can choose from three options:

The accounts are required where the customer will only be able to checkout if they have a customer account.

The accounts are optional where the customer will have the option to either create an account before checking out or proceed to checkout without creating one.

Or, the accounts are disabled, where customers will only be able to check out as guests.

Click on Save.
